CME Exchange Announces XRP Futures Launch on May 19, Expanding Crypto Derivatives Suite
CME Group is expanding its cryptocurrency derivatives offerings with the introduction of XRP futures, set to launch on May 19 pending regulatory approval. The new contracts will support diverse trading strategies, featuring both micro-sized (2,500 XRP) and standard-sized (50,000 XRP) instruments.
This follows CME’s successful rollout of Bitcoin, Ethereum, and Solana futures, highlighting growing institutional demand for regulated crypto exposure. XRP’s inclusion reflects renewed confidence in the asset after its legal clarity with the SEC.
As the only regulated platform offering XRP futures, CME solidifies its leadership in institutional crypto adoption. The dual contract sizes provide flexibility for risk management and speculation, aligning with the exchange’s approach for other digital assets.
